There are two rooms available in a 4-bedroom, 3-story home about 1 1/2 miles West of Purdue's campus in Lafayette. Also in the house is a furnished living room and dining area, basement, two full bathrooms, a decently-sized kitchen complete with a dishwasher and large fridge, washer/dryer, and central AC and heat. The rooms themselves are not furnished, although there are several twin mattresses and box springs available in case you need a bed. The house also includes a decent amount of storage space, including a large area and closet in the basement as well as a garage. Parking would be on the driveway or the street just in front of the house.
The $395 rent does not include utilities such as water and gas. These add up to approximately $60/month. Internet is worked out among the renters, and generally split among them. Maintenance work is handled by the landlord, and the maintenance guys she has hired have always done a wonderful job and have usually fixed whatever problem we have had either the same day or the next day.
The house is located directly off of the Bronze Loop bus route, and walking to the West side of campus takes about 15 minutes. The house does qualify when getting a parking pass for campus, although it is difficult to believe it's far enough away. It is also about a 25-minute walk from both the Chauncey area and the Cactus. It is also within easy walking distance of Village Pantry, a CVS, a small bar, and the Spicy Pickle restaurant (which, in case you haven't tried it, is wonderful!).
The lease would last one year, from May 3, 2013 (the last day of finals) to May of 2014.
